Help us build the
Carlson-Martin Athletic Training Center
Anybody associated with Panther Athletics (or just about any other program in the Bull Run District)
knows and loves Corey Carlson. Her dedication to the health and safety of our student athletes is unmatched. Unfortunately, Mrs. Carlson only has an 11 x 11 custodian's closet and other temporary sites around the school in which to work.
The story
Former PCHS athletic standout and recent graduate, Adryn "Boo" Martin recognized that student athletes weren't getting the care they needed, certainly not for lack of work on the trainer's part, but because there is no dedicated space to do the work. Adryn wouldn't accept this and teamed up with Ridgeview Millwork to put together a plan for a new training space that gives Mrs. Carlson the tools she needs to provide treatment for injury, concussion and other sports-related health needs.
The plan
Knowing that the local school budget is stretched thin, and there was no available space in the current school building, the decision was made to raise private funds to build a dedicated space for athletic training. In consultation with the Principal, Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer, a 16 x 24 building was designed that will allow for rehab, training, treatment, office space, and storage. The building will be heated, cooled and will have water for handwashing and filling coolers. The total cost is estimated at $25,000 which will be raised entirely from generous donors like yourself.
We have approval of the School Board and County building official to move forward with this project.
